The other kind of cat news

Well, my dad and I figured we needed more time before we accepted another cat into our lives. George was so very close to the both of us, and the last thing we wanted was to just try to replace him.

But, we both know that we would never try to just replace George, and I guess the silence was just too loud.

As such, there is a new presence in our lives -- a little lady. She's probably around two months old -- Dad forgot to ask -- and is just about the most adorable little thing ever. She loves people. She was a complete surprise when I got home from work today, and having met her not even six hours ago, she and I have already bonded so much it's just crazy. Pretty excited to meet me for the first time, she buzzed with the sheer energy of about 6 kittens for all of about 10 or 15 minutes before resting her little chin down on my arm and crashing big-time. I took the moment to play some video games, and she stayed put for a while, but after a bit, woke up from a sound sleep, crossed the room at top speed, and climbed up literally onto me to resume her rest. She did this a few different times. She just loves climbing all over me and just being close to people, I guess. Very personable little kitty. I love her to bits already.

"What's her name?" most of you are already asking. There's the rub: I dunno yet. Since my dad went out and picked her out while I was off at work, he decided it was only right that I get the privilege of naming her. This wouldn't be a problem if not for her gender. All of the cat names I had on the backburner were masculine. I've had very few lady cats in my life. So, my determination to name the next cat Ford Prefect is out for the moment. Suggestions are welcome. I'm considering Pearl.

She's a hell of a little ball of energy when she's not asleep, even for a kitten. Right now she's just tearing like crazy through every little nook and cranny of my room she can find. It's adorable when she runs. She's very playful and likes following us around. And blah blah blah kitty! blah blah blah

The memory of George still stays fresh in our minds -- like we said, no cat is a replacement for him. His passing is still hard to cope with, but at least now there is a yin to the yang. Maybe I can go to work to...day and actually think about something besides George for the first time in almost a week. It's important to continue honoring his memory, but it's also important to rejoice in this enthusiastic little innocent life that won't stay a kitten forever. Also on the subject of George, it seems he'll be featured in a sort of tribute thing being produced by the shelter where we found him all those years ago, and also, the vet mailed us a very touching card and a little packet of forget-me-not seeds, which we will probably plant on his grave this weekend.

So... Yeah. I miss George, but I also love Untitled. I look under my desk, and there she sits on my subwoofer.

And yeah, lots of pictures will happen as soon as I'm able to get them. Wouldn't you know it, the battery in my camera is dead tonight.

Trillian, perhaps? Kit (CLI-CHÉ!)? Haruko?

Good to hear that you have a new cat in your life, and that the shelter and vet have remembered you and George.

Alia from MegaMan X5. To go with the Zeor part of your persona.
Ok, really I don't have a clue. You need to post a picture when you can so we have something to go by. :C

Life is a joke...

...and I'm the punchline.
I like Untitled, personally.
Slick has a neat idea, though. Alia, or maybe another Mega Man girl. Maybe Ciel?

It occurs to me that you haven't DESCRIBED your precious little adorable wonderful bundle of hypercharged supersonic KITTEN-POWER.

So what's the deal!? Black fur? Orange? Stripes? A cute little spot under the chin? Give us a hint!

[link] in fur color and pattern, something a lot like this
Vile, Ace Attourney says:
Really? That's pretty cool.
Zero says:
kind of black-and-brown-peppered sort of motif with some white
Vile, Ace Attourney says:
This cat looks like he's supposed to be gray, but bits of bleach spilled on him making some areas orange.
Zero says:
lol
Vile, Ace Attourney says:
Man...
Zero says:
she has a couple of little orange spots, but not a lot

I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid!
Considering her color, that's not so bad... But I feel like I want something more decisively feminine for our little lady. :P

I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid!
I've been through pretty much a whole gauntlet of game-related names, and none of them, Mega Man inclusive, seem to ring any bells, except Roll, which is still kind of viable.
