Today, Friday, May 16, 2008, we lay the King to rest.

Born when I was five years old, so it must have been 1990 or 91. Exact date was never recorded. Cesarean section, believe it or not.

For a kitten delivered at an emergency veterinary hospital visit, George grew to be very strong. Always the dominant alpha male, George kept the streets of Williamsport under his thumb singlehandedly in his youth. Dogs would see George and go the other way.

Went completely AWOL for a period of somewhere around 3 years later on. Either he was at the no-kill shelter where we found him the entire time, or he spent a while on his own, back on the streets.

Once recovered from there, he spent his retirement years back in the care of his original family, until his suffering of chronic renal failure grew too great and the decision was made, abruptly, to put him down.

George was a warrior his whole life. He was, indeed, the one and only King, and I sincerely doubt any other cat could possibly put up a challenge to the legacy he laid down in his Xteen years of life.
